The Horta da Formiga project by Lipor is the “stage” where they show their “good farming and environmental practices”: a garden with vegetables, flowers, animals, medicinal and aromatic plants that you can visit and see these good practices being applied.

They asked VOLTA to create a signage system that would both inform but also blend with the garden. After studying several materials, our solution was to create mirror pillars: the garden’s areas names and description boards, printed in bright colors, seem suspended in the air, while the mirrors that support them reflect the surrounding nature.

The result is a truly non-intrusive signage system, that makes the garden the protagonist but still manages to inform the visitor.
